Are language teachers leading the way with educational technology?

 

The article covers the use of technology in education. Social media offers a good platform for language learning. According to the article by Dale, teachers should lead in technology by implementing technology enhanced learning.  

 

The use of technology in the learning process is good because it allows the learner to evaluate the various issues presented in the lesson in a personal perspective. It allows the user to be able to comprehend the various issues affecting the learning process.

 

In my case, as a language teacher, I love the introduction of technology into the classroom setting.  Technology in education is a new concept of learning that includes the use of technology in the learning process.

Remote learning is also termed as distance learning because of the geographical location of the learners. It offers a wide range of opportunity as presented in the interview presented by the BBC media platform. We looked at the advantages and disadvantages of the remote learning model and all the supportive actions and activities that are integrated in the learning process. During the week, I learnt of the opinions of the class members through sharing and writing of comments. The forum included the analysis of the opinion of the members.

My role as teacher is changing significantly. The use of technology requires the teacher to shift his activities from a centrally focused activity to a participative approach which allows the student to participate actively. In fact, the performance of the teacher will change and his focus will be on the creation of activities that allow students to use their cognitive abilities.
